Protecting Lives Starts Here
Help us rebuild Ruakākā Surf Life Saving Patrol and future-proof lifesaving at one of Northland’s busiest beaches.
A New Home for Lifesaving at Ruakākā
Ruakākā Surf Life Saving Patrol (RSLSP) is rebuilding its clubhouse to ensure our volunteer lifeguards have safe, modern facilities to continue protecting lives at Ruakākā Beach.
Our current building no longer fit for purpose.
The new facility will significantly improve emergency response capability, training outcomes, and long-term sustainability.
Anchor Funding Secured
RSLSP have secured anchor funding from Surf Life Saving New Zealand’s Club Capital Project Fund.
This funding represents around 35% of the total $5.5 million cost.
Community support is now critical to help us complete the rebuild.
Ready to Deliver
This is not a concept — it is a shovel-ready project.
Resource consent approved
Developed design complete
Geotechnical, coastal hazards, and planning assessments completed
Secure lease in place until 2055
Strong governance, build, and fundraising committees
Clear staged funding and delivery plan
Ruakākā Surf Life Saving Patrol sincerely thanks:
Surf Life Saving New Zealand for leadership and anchor funding support
Whangārei District Council for contributing $100,000 toward design and consenting through the Whangārei Communities Fund
Their support has been instrumental in reaching this critical milestone.
Help Us Finish the Job
While anchor funding provides a strong foundation, additional support is required to fully deliver the rebuild.
We are seeking:
Commercial sponsorships
Philanthropic donations
In-kind contributions (materials, services, expertise)
Community fundraising support
Every contribution brings this vital community facility closer to reality.
